Align Your Spending with Your Values

Align Your Spending with Your Values

Last weekend, I was struck by how often I was bombarded with the offer to purchase a new thing from the crafts fair at the outdoor concert on Friday night, where I saw vendors selling necklaces and earrings and soaps and candles, to the Yankees game Monday evening where people waited on long lines to purchase a hat, a Yankees, t-shirt, a bobblehead.

The call to spend our money is pervasive in this society. I'm Laura Rotter of True Abundance Advisors, and I'm here to tell you that it is not your fault if you can't keep to the monthly budget you set up for yourself. The relentless pursuit of more, and the message that this next purchase is the one that is going to make you happy is endemic to our culture.

But I'm also here to tell you that there's a way out of this, by choosing to align your purchases with your values and with your deeper why. When I work with my clients, we do a values exercise together where we identify your top four values and then go through your spending and see how closely your spending aligns with those values that you've named.

If this sounds like something you'd like to do and that you could benefit from, please do not hesitate to reach out. You can email me at laura@trueabundanceadvisors.com. I look forward to hearing from you and helping you live your life on purpose.
